Speed tests running strange?

4 posts in this topic

So, I get this strange drop off in speed whenever it gets to the larger chunk sizes. This isn't normal for most ram drives and I thought I would bring this up.

Actually, do the test again, but use CrystalDiskMark vs ATTO it is the benchmark that pretty much everybody seems to use.

That being said, all ram drives I've tested fluxuate in speeds greatly, and it seems to be due to things like data bus congestion, CPU availability, etc.

Hmmm. I do wind that atto gives much better results. I've never had an issue with it otherwise. Crystal also doesn't do a full test along every byte size. It only runs 4 tests. Seqential, 512k,  4k, and 4k QD32

Just seems really strange to just drop out at the larger files sizes like that. You would think it would only go up in speed.
