Imagine that vest + Occulus!

It apparently works great with movies (and I wonder how it will work with music).

I'm really curious how it knows when to rumble. Is it specific to a type of sound?

Im not really sure.

Perhaps it somehow converts the audio to 5.1 or 7.1 and then uses the directional input to decide which speaker to use.

I'm really just shooting in the dark there. I have no clue.

Deadmeat, using 5.1 sound is actually a brilliant idea. If that isn't how it is done, it very well could be!

Well right now it is connected to your output by a 3.5mm jack so I don't know if all of the data necessary is transferred for a convertion to 5.1 or 7.1 to be possible. If that's not how they do it, I predict that a future model probably will connect with 5.1 or 7.1 cables.
